Welcome to the Wayne County Community College District’s Heinz C. Prechter Educational and Performing Arts Center (EPAC)
Presented by WCCCD’s Heinz C. Prechter Educational and Performing Arts Center and the School of Continuing Educationa and Workforce Development in partnership with NKSK Events + Productions, Njia Kai.
ABOUT THE EVENT
A unique event in Metro Detroit, the Performers Expo is not a talent show or contest. The annual showcase is a professional development opportunity that features some of Michigan’s best talent. Artists can submit their performance sample and those selected by the jury perform a 4-minute showcase on the main stage of the beautiful Heinz C. Prechter Educational and Performing Arts Center for a team of jurors made up of area talent buyers. Jurors provide written feedback for each act that appears. The expo includes a professional development workshop with an industry insider, as well as a great opportunity to network with colleagues and share promotional materials. All activities are free for all participants.
Past Expos have included reviewers from festivals and venues including African World Festival, Campus Martius Park, New Center Park, Noel Night, Downriver Council for the Arts, Grosse Ile Alliance for the Arts, Detroit Events Team, Jazz Café at Music Hall, Urban Organic, Taylor Conservatory, Southern Wayne County Regional Chamber, Integrity Shows, Palmer Park Art Fair, Funky Ferndale Art Fair, Royal Oak Clay Glass and Metals Show, Carr Center, Music and Stage – Grand Circus Park, Wayne County Community College District, Belle Isle Art Fair, Sunday Art at Eastern Market, Arab American National Museum/Concert of Colors, The Berman Center, Pix Theatre, Jefferson House, and Kirtland Center for the Performing Arts.
WHO CAN PLAY?
Performers from all disciplines; bands, singers, instrumentalists, variety artists, dance crews, spoken word; you name it! The showcases are open free to the public and therefore must be appropriate for all ages.
