About Banner
WCCCD faculty and staff turn to one
system for all administrative functions.
Everything from payroll to grades is managed
through the Sungard Banner system as the foundation. WCCCD has installed the following modules:
- Accounts Receivable
- Finance
- Financial Aid
- Human Resources
- Student
- General
- All Self-Service Modules
In addition, the following products have been integrated with the Banner system:
Downtime notifications - Planned and emergency downtime information
will be available here
Production Banner Availability Schedule:
Monday thru Saturday: 7AM - 11PM*
Nightly Backup Window: 1AM - 6AM
Test Systems Availability Schedule:
Monday Through Friday: 6:30AM - 9PM
*Production Banner may be available outside specified hours.
*Occasionally maintenance or upgrades to Production Banner may require the system to be unavailable during regularly scheduled hours or on weekends.
Banner training
There are many Banner Training classes that are offered.
Those individuals new to Banner should begin with Banner Navigation. The sessions to attend after navigation training depend on your job
responsibilities. Work with your supervisor to determine what training will best meet your needs. Banner training is now offered through Organizational Development Institute.

Banner training: Navigation
This class is offered the same week as The New Employee Orientation and is highly recommended before access to the Banner system
is granted. The class covers general Banner concepts, navigation, functions, toolbar buttons, and Banner search techniques. There will be an overview of FERPA (privacy of student information). Banner Navigation Training is available upon request. Please Contact Rahel Tadesse at (313) 496-2508 to schedule an appointment.
For all other trainings, please contact your supervisor.
Banner Documentation
Banner Documentation has been converted to Adobe PDF files, so that it will view and print more consistently between different desktops and printers. You will find the Banner Security Request form, the Banner setup instructions, the Banner Navigation documentation, Banner HR documentation, Banner Finance documentation, Banner Financial Aid Documentation and more….
