The Parent Academy

The Mission Statement…
The Wayne County Community College Parent Academy mission is to empower parents, grandparents, and caregivers with valuable resources to enrich the lives of children.   This mission is accomplished through quality programs and workshops designed to help children succeed throughout life.

About the Academy...
The Parent Academy educates parents using two major approaches: 1) The Certificate Program and 2) Workshops/Outreach Programs. The Parent Academy provides a series of classes, workshops, seminars, and programs specifically designed to focus on communication, parenting, student learning, advocacy, arts and culture, safety, and host of other critical areas of child development. With approximately 600,000 single-parent households in Michigan, The Academy offers educational strategies and knowledge to parents and children.
