The Certificate Program

The Certificate Program consists of nine (9) hours of classroom instruction and learning activities that will provide parents with the necessary tools to help their children succeed academically and throughout life.  

Parenting in Today’s Society
Effective parenting in today’s high-tech society will be discussed.  Parent will learn strategies to assist them in building a strong parent-child relationship.

Your Role as a Parent
This session will assist parents in understanding their role in providing a stable, loving and supportive environment.  Building a positive environment will encourage your child to be successful in the future.

How Can You Help Your Child Succeed in School
This session will use role play and discussion to assist parents in helping their children build effective study habits, improve test taking skills, and address appropriate school conduct.

Advocacy: Working with Your Child’s School
Parents will actively explore effective communication strategies for interacting with teachers and principals to promote their child’s academic success.

Advocacy: Working with Your Child’s School District
Parents will examine effective communication strategies for interacting with the school board and district officials to advocate for their child’s academic success.

Planning Your Child’s Future
Continuing your role as parent, you will discover it’s never too early to prepare for your child’s college future!  Parents will explore ways to contribute to the likelihood of your child earning a college degree.
