Welcome to the Wayne County Community College District Facilities and Plant Operations Department, We seek to provide the best quality service in a professional, timely manner to the campus community and our staff. Our objective is to ensure that you receive accurate and efficient responses to all requests for facility services. Our department is dedicated to maintaining quality conditions at all of our campuses and District Office while providing a comfortable environment for our students to learn and our staff to work and grow.

The Facilities and Plant Operations department handles more than 69,000 work requests each year in an effort to service its community and staff. In addition, we work, plan, construct, maintain and operate the District physical plant, the campus buildings and grounds consistent with the Wayne County Community College District Vision, Values, Mission and Strategic Plan.

Mr. Sammie Rice, Chief Operating Officer for the Facilities and Plant Operations Department, is responsible for more than 100 employees internal and external. Each of the facility locations under his jurisdiction covers an average of 149,322 square feet.
