Frequently Asked Questions

  • How can I get a Library card?

All WCCCD students and faculty are entitled to a library card. Students and faculty may apply for a card at any of our five campuses. Students will need to show a current
student ID and a class confirmation/registration form when applying. Faculty will need to
show a current student roster or ID.

  • Do I need a new card every semester?

The library card is renewable every semester and will allow the student or faculty
member to check out books, telecourse tapes, and AV materials. It will also permit
access to a variety of online databases. To renew, bring your current class term confirmation and current ID.

  • What do I do about a lost library card?

There is a $5.00 charge for replacement of a lost or stolen library card.

  • Do I have to return my books or other materials to the LRC campus they were checked out from?

No, you can return books to any of our five LRC's. That's one of the many benefits of a
    multi-campus library system.

  • Where can I find the library catalog?

The library catalog can be accessed from anywhere by going on-line and to the WCCCD web site http://www.wcccd.edu and clicking on WCCCD LEARNING RESOURCE CENTER.

  • What's the length of time I can keep a book out? Can I renew a book?

Books are charged out for a period of three weeks. There is a one-week renewal for all circulating books.

  • Does the library charge fines?

Yes, the library charges fines on overdue materials at the rate of 25 cents per day up to
    a maximum of $40.00.

  • I lost my library book, what should I do?
