Michigan Programs

The following state programs are currently offered at Wayne County Community College District. Documentation of Michigan state residency is required.

Michigan Adult Part-Time Grant (MAPTG)
The Michigan Educational Opportunity Grant program is designed to provide grant assistance for qualified students. Awards at WCCCD range from $100 to $600. You must be:

  • A Michigan resident for a minimum of twelve months prior to the application date
  • Out of high school at least two years
  • Enrolled for at least three credit hours, but not more than eleven to qualify

Michigan Educational Opportunity Grant (MEOG)

The Michigan Educational Opportunity Grant program is designed to provide grant assistance for qualified students. Grants of up to $700 per academic year are available under this program. To qualify you must:

  • Be enrolled in a public Michigan college or university on at least a half-time basis
  • Be a Michigan resident for a minimum of twelve months prior to application

Michigan Work-Study (MWS)
The Michigan Work-Study program is designed to provide employment opportunities for qualified students. To qualify you must:

  • Be enrolled in a public Michigan college or university on at least a half-time basis
  • Be a Michigan resident for a minimum of twelve months

Michigan Competitive Scholarships (MCS)
This competitive scholarship is awarded to students who:

  • Meet the established ACT score;
  • Demonstrates a financial need;
  • Enroll in a public Michigan college or university on at least half-time basis; and
  • Document their Michigan residency.

Michigan Promise Scholarship
This competitive scholarship is awarded to students who:

  • Meet the established MEAP or Michigan Merit Exam score
  • Initate the use of their scholarship within two years of high school
  • Are Michigan residents
