Michigan Army National Guard Continuing Education System
The eligibility criteria stipulate that you must be a Guard member, who enlists, re-enlists or extends enlistment six years. Ten years is the length of time allowed to use these benefits.

Michigan National Guard Educational Benefits for Dependents
The eligibility criteria stipulate that you must be:
- A student between the ages of 16 and 22;
- A child of a member of the Michigan National Guard who was killed on active state service, or died from other causes during active state service; or was
- Totally disabled after active service as a result of such service.

Michigan War Orphan Act
The eligibility criteria stipulate that you must be a child between the ages of 16 and 22 of a Michigan veteran who has died, or was or is totally disabled due to service incurred causes, or listed as missing in action. You may receive up to thirty-six months of full-time benefits, or until age 23, whichever comes first.
