The Office of Public Relations offers a wdie variety of services designed to communicate the benefits of a community college district through print, electronic and digital media.
The Office of Public Relations serves in an advisory capacity for a variety of groups within WCCCD to advise them on how to deliver messages to target audiences in the most effective way, how to work with the news media, how to use the Internet (and intranet, for employees) and to deliver accurate and timely information.
All staff members work together as a team and frequently assist other units with special programs and events, news and other functions.
Marketing
- Provide leadership in the development of effective District communications
- Planning of a wide range of marketing projects in support of the District’s strategic initiatives, student recruitment efforts and marketing campaigns;
- Manage the District website content
Public Relations
- Provide on-going training opportunities through the Professional & Staff development Institute- PSDI
- Provide an internal communication program to keep employees informed
- Reaching out to the community through a variety of special events and communications
Media Relations
- Serving as the District spokesperson for media inquiries;
- Issuing media releases and advisories; and
- Writing and submitting feature articles
