Transcripts
What is an official transcript?
An official transcript is one that has been received directly from the issuing institution. It must bear the college seal, date and college Registrar's signature. It is best when sending an official transcript to another college or university or an employer to have the transcript sent directly to that entity, not to you. In most situations where an official transcript is requested or required, it will not be accepted if removed from the envelope it is provided in or if the envelope has been opened.
What is a student (unofficial) transcript?
A student transcript is an "unofficial" copy that does not bear the college seal or signature of the Registrar. Unofficial transcripts can be requested at any campus Admissions and Records Office.
Most employers and all transfer colleges and universities will want an "official" transcript. Transcripts issued or mailed directly to a student will be stamped "ISSUED TO STUDENT." You may also view the Web-Gate to print an unofficial copy of your academic history for your review.
