Where Learning Leads to a Better Life!

Chancellor's Welcome

Welcome to the
Wayne County Community College District

Our mission is to empower individuals, businesses, and communities to achieve their higher education and career advancement goals through excellent, accessible, culturally diverse, and globally competitive programs and services.

We are proud of the WCCCD faculty and staff who work diligently throughout the five campuses, the Michigan Institute for Public Safety Education, Heinz C. Prechter Educational and Performing Arts Center and the Mary Ellen Stempfle University Center to deliver high quality instruction, support extra-curricular and co-curricular activities, and provide a nurturing environment for all persons within this vibrant learning community.

Serving more than 70,000 credit and non-credit students each year through more than 120 degree and certificate programs along with dynamic continuing education and workforce programs, the impact of our work extends beyond the 32 cities and townships in our service area.  Engaged through a variety of distance learning modalities, WCCCD students can be found around the globe. Our Study Abroad program has extended the classroom for hundreds of students with opportunities to visit and study in sister institutions around the world.

Recognized as the “community’s college,” we are the place where learning leads to a better life. I invite you to come, study, learn, grow and achieve your dreams.
