SMART Eligibility
  • Enrollment at Wayne County Community College District (at least half-time)
  • Submit Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  • Experienced time in foster care on or after 14th birthday
  • If adopted, must have been after 16th birthday
  • Be between ages 18-22 years old (21+ may be eligible for other services)
  • Must maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA and satisfactory academic progress
  • Must maintain regular attendance in academic courses
  • Attend regular monthly SMART Program meetings and/or workshops
  • Self-Motivation and Self-Determination to achieve personal goals and academic success
