WCCCD’s Cultural Enrichment presents a Film Viewing

This 2020 documentary by executive producers former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama, is part of the Virtual Documentary Film Viewing series for the Spring 2026 semester.

Crip Camp explores Camp Jened, a summer camp for teens with disabilities in the 1970s that helped spark the disability rights movement.

The film follows campers such as Judy Heumann and Jim LeBrecht as they transform their camp experiences into a lifelong commitment to activism for accessibility and civil rights, culminating in major legislative victories such as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
