Cultural Enrichment - Pomegranate

The movie "Pomegranate," is written and directed by Iraqi born American Weam Namou.

"Pomegranate" is about Michigan, and one of our suburban communities, Sterling Heights. It is about Iraqi American immigrants, Muslim and Chaldean, with generation gaps between immigrant parents with cherished cultural and religious traditions, and their children, who want to adapt to their new home's culture, to be "accepted." It is about young women struggling to define their own identity without denying their own cultural and religious history.
