“Community Consciousness” Exhibit

DETROIT, Mich. – September 2, 2025 – Eighty-one artists from across southeast Michigan will present their works in the annual “Community Consciousness” art exhibit, opening Thursday, September 4, 2025, at the Brown and Juanita C. Ford Art Gallery located on the Wayne County Community College District’s (WCCCD) Curtis L. Ivery Downtown Campus. The campus is located at 1001 West Fort Street in Detroit. The exhibit opens with a 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. reception on September 4 and is open to the public at no cost. The exhibit is on view through November 5, 2025.

The exhibit includes sculpture, paintings, drawings, prints and photography. Presenting artists include Harold Allen, John Bolden, Judy Bowman, Cory Chavis, Ida Hawkins, Jo Lewis, Aliyah Moore, Raven Moreland, Stephanie Onwenu, Jocelyn Rainey, Gyona Rice, Bill Sanders, Dawud Shabazz, Asha Walida, Myrlen Washington, Najma Wilson and many more.
