Urban Summit IV: New Visions of Integration and Civil Rights in American Democracy
Wayne County Community College District and WCCCD’s Institute for Social Progress Present Fourth National Urban Summit on May 10, 2024
DETROIT, Mich. – May 8, 2024 – Wayne County Community College District’s (WCCCD) Detroit Urban Summit IV will be held on Friday, May 10, hosted by WCCCD Chancellor Dr. Curtis L. Ivery and the WCCCD Institute for Social Progress (ISP).
This national summit will bring together scholars, authors, and civic leaders to discuss educational, political, social, and economic issues impacting historically diverse populations.
The two-part summit will focus on:
- Legal cases and racial dynamics in U.S. public education and housing
- The ongoing importance of racial and economic integration in American democracy
